Overview
The Sex field was updated in the CaseWorthy Production environment to align with the Gender field for all clients with open enrollments or exited/closed enrollments dated 10/1/2020 to present.
To ensure data consistency and reporting accuracy, a script was executed to populate the new ‘Sex’ field for clients who had missing data in that field.
This conversion script only applied to clients where the ‘Sex’ field was empty (NULL) and who had:
- Open enrollments
- OR Exited/closed enrollments on or after October 1, 2020.
The conversion logic used was as follows:
- If a client’s ‘Gender’ field was ‘Man (Boy, if child)’ , their ‘Sex’ field was updated to ‘Male’.
- If a client’s ‘Gender’ field was ‘Woman (Girl, if child)’ , their ‘Sex’ field was updated to ‘Female’.
Clients with other ‘Gender’ field selections were not impacted by this update.
No action is required from end-users. Users will now observe the ‘Sex’ field (Male/Female) populated for client records that meet the specific criteria outlined above.
