Trainings and Learning Opportunities

Landlords and property owners are critical but sometimes overlooked partners in efforts to solve homelessness. On Friday, July 11th, the Opening Doors Initiative and United Way of Greater Waterbury are co-hosting the last in its Landlord Learning Series. This session offers an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, where attendees can hear directly from special guest speaker Joseph Ianelli, who will share his insights from his work and answer your question.

The Homelessness and Housing Resource Center has created the New Staff Orientation Guide which helps providers in onboarding new staff with recommendations for free trainings to complete within the first 3 months. Note that several of these trainings come with CEUs. Topics include:

  • Substance Use
  • Serious Mental Illness and Serious Emotional Disturbance
  • Achieving and Maintaining Housing
  • Treatment Models and Engagement
