CT HMIS: MFA – Security Enhancement

CT HMIS Community:

The CT HMIS Caseworthy application will be enabled to require multi-factor authentication (MFA) as of June 1, 2022. This is the first communication of several to inform and prepare users for this enhancement. MFA is necessary in order to increase security of CT HMIS. Once enabled all users will be required to perform a second step to authenticate their identity in order to log into CT HMIS. MFA will re-authenticate users on each device every week.

Each user will need to review and verify their contact information prior to launch in order to ensure receipt of the MFA authentication code. We will send out a separate communication with instructions on how the MFA will be transmitted and how to update your contact information for MFA transmission from the Caseworthy application.

There will be two live webinars scheduled the week of May 23 to educate users on MFA. The webinars will be recorded and posted on CTHMIS.com for users that cannot attend. A separate communication will be sent out with dates, times and registration links for webinar attendance.

Once we go live on June 1, we will provide open zoom meetings for support on June 1 and June 2. Your support team will be available to assist you with any issues so that you can get logged into Caseworthy as quickly as possible. We will send out the zoom links a week before the go live date and post them to CTHMIS.com for easy access.

MFA is a critical step to improving our security of Caseworthy and HMIS data. We appreciate your patience and support as we implement this requirement.

Thank you.
