Resolved Conflict in Data Collection for VA: GPD
Published: March 12, 2024

Overview

We have fixed a conflict in data collection requirements for “VA: Grant Per Diem (GPD) programs. The HMIS Data Standards manual incorrectly provided vendors with information on programs requiring the Employment status question. After working with HUD and our vendor (CaseWorthy,, Service Only programs have been added to the list of applicable program types, providing clarity on the requirement.

Impact & Necessary Actions

This assessment question has not had a negative impact on reporting for GPD programs as the VA repository uses the ‘Full’ CSV for this program type, not the SSVF CSV. No additional modification of behavior or system changes are required.
