Advancing Connecticut Together (ACT) has issued a Request for Proposals to potentially select a new Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) software for Connecticut. This process is rooted in feedback from providers across the state and is focused on addressing long-standing challenges with usability, data entry, reporting, and system performance. The goal is a more user-friendly, reliable HMIS that better supports frontline work while meeting all HUD and funder requirements.

Our efforts to review all of the software options is aimed at reducing duplicate data entry, improving case management and coordinated entry workflows, supporting mobile and outreach-based work, and providing more timely and accurate reports. If a new vendor is selected, system end users will likely not be impacted for many months. If a new vendor is not selected and we continue to work with our existing vendor, our next steps will include efforts to improve system functionality wherever possible to improve the experience for everyone using HMIS.
