The HIC and PIT counts are our annual counts, required by HUD, of

  1. all beds and units (HIC) dedicated to serve people experiencing homelessness, and
  2. the people experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness (PIT) at a single point in time within the CoC.

This year’s count will take place on the night of Tuesday, January 23rd, but most of the HIC has already been completed, the biggest exception being Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Programs. The Sheltered training will include instructions on completion of the RRH HIC. The blue underlined text sections are hyperlinks to register for the trainings. Please make every effort to have the staff responsible for the counts attend the training(s).

Below are the registration links for the next round of PIT trainings. The purpose of these trainings will be to review the people count data collection process for all HMIS and Non-HMIS Programs (see below – trainings divided into “sheltered” and “unsheltered.”

1). Sheltered Programs Training Registration: 1/9 from 10 – 12

This training is for users who will be confirming the programs for PIT for the following program types:

  • Emergency Shelter
  • Safe Haven
  • Transitional Housing – including Grant Per Diem (GPD) projects
  • Permanent Housing/ Permanent Supportive Housing – including Housing Stability Voucher (HSV) programs
  • Veteran Assisted Supportive Housing (VASH)
  • Rapid Rehousing programs

2). Unsheltered Programs Training Registration: 1/9 from 2 – 4 p.m.

This training is for users who will be confirming the unsheltered persons count for PIT. This includes:

  • Street Outreach
  • PATH Street Outreach
  • Warming Centers without beds, cots or mats
  • CAN Unsheltered Outreach Contacts
  • Youth Outreach and Youth Navigators
